Privacy and data flow
QuotaRing is a local Mac app. It has no account system and no server that receives your usage. This page lists what it reads and where data is sent.
What it reads on your Mac
Usage records and agent activity from the AI tools installed on your Mac: Claude Code's and Codex's session files, Antigravity's local service, Cursor's locally stored session, and similar files for other supported tools. Usage history is stored locally under ~/Library/Application Support/QuotaRing.
Credentials
Sign-ins stay where the tools already keep them, in the macOS Keychain or in the tool's own storage. QuotaRing uses them only to authenticate checks with that tool's provider. API keys you paste for OpenRouter, DeepSeek or Moonshot are stored in the Keychain.
Provider checks
Network checks go only to the relevant provider. Claude and Codex usage is read from their providers' usage endpoints without sending a model message. Copilot is read through GitHub's billing API using your existing gh sign-in.
Optional iPhone sync and push
If you turn on Show on iPhone, quota readings, recaps and selected agent details sync through your private iCloud database. When a Live Activity relay is configured, its HTTPS endpoint receives a push token and the activity payload with agent titles, states, counts and quota status. It forwards them to Apple's push service.
Licensing and updates
Polar handles license activation and validation, including your license key and your Mac's activation name. Sparkle checks the public update feed and downloads releases. These requests are separate from your AI usage history.
Feedback and crash reports
QuotaRing keeps the last ten crash and hang reports from macOS on your Mac. They leave your Mac only as attachments to an email you send with Send Feedback.
